Black Monday on Blogdrive

Cool Blogdrive Guy tries to verify the servers are down

Some have a theory that the extra sea water from the massive Asian Tsunami -- after flooding all those millions of square miles, evaporating, and getting into the Pacific jetstream -- is responsible for the recent strong storms on the West Coast of the United States.  The extreme weather was to blame for Blogdrive's Black Monday.

My exclusive underground sources tell me that the extreme weather in California, whatever its true cause, was simply coincidental and used as a cover story to hide a far more evil series of events that caused the blogdrive servers to digitally blink out, like a celestial eclipse of the north star.

That's crazy talk, you say.  Perhaps.  But I have video proof about the sinister series of events that actually took blogdrive down faster than a burrito supreme stuck in Dick Cheney's aorta.

First, as you can see in the webcam screenshot above, something terrible happened to Cool Blogdrive Guy while he was working late into the night.  From this video, you can can clearly see the email forward tersely entitled Goodbye.  After trying to make several phone calls to verify the trouble, not much else is documented.

No one is quite certain if Phases was able to call anyone during the terrible events on Monday.  Some people are speculating that he may have been on the road.  This video may only tell part of the story, but it is a piece of the puzzle.

Whether or not CBG or Phases actually called Helpee on Black Monday is not known.  But it is clear from this video that someone dispatched poor Helpee to the secret location of the blogdrive servers to try and fix the problem.

When poor Helpee arrived on the scene, it became quickly apparent that something far larger than himself was set in motion on Black Monday.  No one really knows why some of the videos of evidence of these horrific events for blogdrive have been subtitled in English.

One can only speculate that it is a massive cover-up of the real truth and part of a campaign of disinformation.  I really don't know.  During Blogdrive's Black Monday, I was at home watching my own Christmas home video.

Digital Fandom

Clive Barker Rawks!
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue," goes the saying.  It's been an interesting digital marriage.  I serendipitously themed most of my online activities to Clive Barker's novel, Imajica, soon after I bought the first edition in a Detroit Metro airport shop prior to boarding a flight to San Antonio to start a consulting contract almost 15 years ago.  I digitally co-branded my future existence to a work of literary fiction.  As things typically go with time, I have grown to appreciate that association better than one made with a professional sports team, specific location, or some other named group.  I guess you could call me a loyal fan.  I had the pleasure of a Judith Odell in my life for five of those years.  I also had a cat for 15 years, as I note in my blogdrive profile.  I miss them both.

I've travelled through the dominions of my own personal Imajica.  And like Barker's novel, the horrors and pleasures have been many, varied and fantastic.  All that memory aside, I simply included the image of my digital genesis because I thought it to be appropriate in order to speak of a few items of interest concerning Thunderstorms in the Imajica.

One of the things I've been looking at with an eye toward improvement is my static, left-side, menu panel here.  Before the New Year, I created the framework for my Ear Candy in the Imajica.  I'm going to work from the main destinations envisioned for tha left-sde menu panel graphical headings: the Stormy Topics, Web Litter and Web Phreeks sections, preliminarily.  If you have a suggestion, feel free to make it.

Another thing to do is just slowly adding content linkage to many of those sections.  Here's a warning: complain just once about it and I'll code that panel to display 100 50x50 pixel-sized fan listing, AOL buddy and user avatar icons there.  So, don't push me.

Here's something for you, if you have a non-graphically challenged blog that you otherwise hide by not including the URL for it in any of your email signatures.  Right-click and rip this GIF animation, if you want to beta-test some blogdrive community spirit.  All of the animated GIFs below are the same graphic image file simply shown on several different gradients of background color.

Swamp Gas v. 002

Welcome to Swamp Gas in the Imajica.  Similar to the You Can't Make This Shit Up (YCMTSU) section, Swamp Gas will focus solely on news and items of interest in the sunshine state of Florida.

They say, "All the nuts in America roll downhill to Florida," so let's just see how true that phrase really is.

Click on the Swamp Gas logo for the smelly menu.

ST. AUGUSTINE

Maybe little Mikey likes Muzzle Loaders
Yo.  If you're ever stuck in a hotel room in the 904
sharing a suicidally lame weekend with your little cousin Mikey who won't stop whining because you won't give up the Play Station controller, you could always drag your half-stoned redneck ass to the Museum of Weapons in historic St. Augustine.  My enhanced Thunderstorms-enabled web browser's You Can't Make This Shit Up (YCMTSU) plug-in spotted this for me today.  Like Ginger Bear, I figured you wouldn't believe me, so here's the most dial-up friendly proof I can offer you.
